Bedtime

I am getting really annoyed with how much I use my phone right before bed. Really annoyed.

Time for some changes here. Let’s mix some things up!

Better sleep, here we come!

Dear God, thank you for this day and this life and this family and this home. Please, keep us all safe and well and together and joyful. Help my husband to have a successful week this week especially, please. Guide him clearly. In your name, we pray. Amen.

P.S. It is driving me nuts that I ended that with a preposition, but I had to use the actual colloquial phrase / idiomatic expression for it. Ugh(!!!). Well, goodnight, then. 😉

Irony

My mom w acts to get up early. She fussed at me for not getting up early. But, when I’ve tried to go to bed both nights, she has continuously added things to the agenda, preventing me from going to bed.

It is very frustrating. I am exhausted, and we aren’t getting to do the only two things I had wanted to do on this trip, all because of not being able to go to bed at a comfortable time.

Ugh.

Alamooh, no…

On the way to San Antonio and the Alamo, on our first car ride with the baby, the baby had her first blowout in over a month. And it was a bad one. It got all over her outfit that I’d prepped for the Alamo photo, as well as all over her car seat. You know, the one she still had to use for another hour and a half.

So, that was a ridiculous stop at a crappy gas station with a very crappy and rather icky bathroom with no paper towels.

So, we pivoted to doing the Alamo another time. Possibly still this weekend, possibly not. But I’m still rooting for this weekend. We brought the hat and boots and outfit…

Anyway, as I said on our way getting back on the road, she certainly made the first road trip memorable. Haha

Thank you, God, for my daughter. Please, keep us and my family safe and well and together. Keep my husband especially safe this next week, please. In your name, I pray. Amen.

Mourning

I just found out that another significant teacher of mine has passed away. John White. He was 81. I am so grateful to have known him and to have learned from him. Thank you, John.

Thank you, God. Welcome his soul well, please. In your name, I pray. Amen.

Delirium?

We are in bed, sleeping. I am on my back. My husband rolls over and flops his arm on top of me, hitting my arms that are wrapped around the baby sleeping on my chest. “P—!” He pulls his arm off quickly.

‘Is there a baby there??’ I pause before answering, looking down at her to make sure she’s okay. As I wake up more, I process fully…

‘… No. But I thought there was.’ We both laugh, neither of us even fully awake. We realize that I am cuddling my large elephant stuffed animal that usually sleeps next to me. It tricked me into thinking it was our child, who, in fact, is in her crib in the other room, totally fine and still asleep.

😛

Bedtime

I was actually doing reasonably on going to bed at a good time tonight. Then the baby woke from hunger – guess she had just been super tired earlier, and actually was still hungry when I put her to bed. Here I am, hours later than it seemed I’d get to bed, finally going to sleep.

Ugh.

I hope my husband cuddles me when he gets home tonight.

Thank you for my family and home, God. Please, keep them well and safe. In your name, I pray. Amen.

Perfection

Everything is perfect, as it is in God’s hands. I must remember that, and I must allow myself to feel that.

Thank you, God. Thank you, Lord. Please, keep us safe and together and make us well. In your name, I pray. Amen.

Midnight

Tonight, I am over social media. We shall see if it holds out tomorrow, of course. But, instead of going to bed when I was basically ready to go to sleep, minus the need to brush and floss my teeth and do my stretches, I looked through things on social media for almost an hour and a half. Absolutely ridiculous. Yes, I found some very useful clips and information – recipes, hacks for baby stuff, etc. – but I also lost up to two hours of great sleep. Not cool.

So, goodnight, two hours later than intended.

More Junk

Costco updated their app today, and it requires a system software that my phone can’t run. They won’t allow the app to run on a previous version – only the newest one. So, I can’t use yet another app anymore.

I hate people sometimes.

And it’s been sometimes a lot recently.
