Claim to fame?

I ran into my second cousin at Costco yesterday. She informed me that one of our great-great-somethings wrote a song for Elvis, she thought….

Naturally, I looked it up. And, wow, she is correct! I’m not certain of who specifically the woman was, but I think it was a great-great-aunt. My dad’s mother’s aunt, I think. But it might have been her cousin. Actually, her cousin makes more sense, based in lifetime… hmm… Well, I sent it to my dad just now, and I’m hoping he’ll be able to tell me where she was in the family! Super cool to learn, nonetheless.

“Heartbreak Hotel,” co-wrote by someone in my bloodline. Way cool. Haha

“You could tuck in the mullet part”

The things we say in our family member text messages – things which, at the time, seem normal enough to us – never cease to amaze me… and today’s was no excuse.

We were looking for a reasonable Elvis wig in the costume shop, for a Catholic Life Insurance party this weekend, you see, and one wig was really rather good, minus the few mullet hairs in the back.

Simple, and totally normal, right?

😛
